Thought of the Day - Reconnections

75802-946563-thumbnail.jpg When I was a kid my parents were friends with a couple (Kenny and Alma) who came to be like another set of grandparents to me.  I spent a great deal of time with them growing up, going on trips, spending weekends with them.  These two had a wide variety of interests and hobbies and I was exposed to many things by them over the years.

Unfortunately,  Alma died when I was about 13.  I went on a long trip back east with Kenny afterwards to see his old stomping grounds.  Shortly after that, Kenny drifted out of my life.

I haven't seen him for many years now.  Finally, during my last trip to Colorado a few weeks ago I managed to reconnect with him.  He's 88 now.  A bit harder of hearing but still sharp as a tack.  I had a great visit with him that lasted the better part of the day.  I got to meet his 'new' wife for the first time and we all got to share stories and swap memories.  What a great experience.
