2004c_pinotnoir.jpgI have heard good things about Castle Rock wines, they are a winery that operates with a virtual model...they buy grapes from growers and hire people to make the wine for them (they own nothing).  Well, I have had two of their wines, a Zinfandel, and a Pinot Noir (Monterey).  So, last night I had their 2004 Carneros Pinot Noir.  Now, Carneros is known for producing great Pinot Noir grapes due to the location and how the breezes from the Ocean come insland and cool the grapes.  The wine was terrible for what it is.  There were all sorts of good tastes in the wine, but there was a bitter taste that ran under the good tastes and made the wine taste...well, YUCK.  And it had a stinky nose.

You've been warned.
